Fishing has been pretty good . The river has been producing the usual Lady's , Jack's, & even some Snook. Last week we had Capt. Bryan from N.Y. out & we managed 1 sm Snook while sight fishing to many 20# plus fish . It was nice sight fishing I need to get a push pole. The dock light's have been o.k. many light's have been over taken by sm Jack's. Offshore this week we had quite a few Albie's. We ran the beach the other day & found school's of giant Jack's. We got 1 to eat & did the Trout set. Spinner Shark's are showing in Palm Beach & saw some today in Hobe Sound.

I want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

The wind has been a problem down here for the past few month's. Lucky if you can get on the ocean 1 day a week. The new boat came in & they built it wrong, so we did not accept it. We should have a new boat in January. I made my annual journey up north in November to do my favorite kind of fishing , winter Steelheading. Spent a week w/my good friend Lucky Chucky ( www.luckychuckyflies.com ). The weather was warm except for the 2nd to last day when we were hit w/lake effect snow storm. At one point during the late morning on friday it was hard to see accross the river it was snowing so hard. I like when the weather get's like that as I think the fish turn on. I got my biggest fish of the trip during the snow. We even got into f Brown Trout every day, which is a not that i've seen this. Most fish were caught on Sucker Spawn ( Thank's Andy ) & Chucky's Rainbow Bead Egg fly's.

The winter resident fish have shown up. River's have plenty of Sm. Jack's , Lady's , & even Popano have started to show. Dock light Snooking has been pretty good. Find the bridge that has Mullet & you'll find some nice size Snook. We've made a few trip's running the beach & the usual area's are holding plenty of Spanish Mackrel. Next month we should start to see the winter run of King's , Jack's & Spinner Shark's.

Since we sold the Contender ( New one should be ready end of Oct. ) we've only been fishing the river. The river is full of Mullet & Glass Minnow's. Were not having a problem finding big Snook & baby tarpoon, problem is staying buttoned to them. Fishing 8wt's w/floating line's w/deer hair & big crease fly's. We've hooked & jumped some Tarpoon & had probably the biggest Snook i've ever seen eat the deer hair mullet. We watched theis fish eat take some line & come up shaking it's head & never set the hook. There's been some Jack's around also. The dock light's & bridge's have been outstanding. This week we've had some really nice fish on 3" Glass Minnow pattern's. Had one on tuesday night that was to much on the 7wt. Couldn't stop the fish & she found the bridge pieling.

Offshore has been yielding plenty of Albie's along w/Blue & Rainbow Runner's ( which are good eating ) We've had some day's were we had to deal w/Flipper & Jaw's.The King fishing has been very spotty. One day w/Richard & Ted we had about 6 Shark's come up to the boat along w/a Cobia that was over 30#'s. The Shark's were interested in Richard's Albie but wanted nothing to do w/Ted's crease fly. Snook are showing along the beach's along w/some big school's of Jack's.

Young Will came out to try the fly in the salt for the 1st time. His 1st two cast he was rewarded w/a nice big Blue Runner & a nice False Albacore. After an hour he told his father he was done.

The wind finally laid down alittle this past weekend & we were able to get offshore w/o getting beat up. There's plenty of action offshore. Load's of Rainbow Runner's, Dolphin & Albie's. The good thing is we haven't seen any Shark's. Andy from Pa. put the biggest Albie on the boat so far this season w/an 18#er. He got this fish while fishing a full sinking line on a 9wt. which I don't recomend. He was trying to get a King & we weren't doing any chumming.

Dock light Snooking has been very consistent. Only problem is alot of light's we usually fish have not been turned on.

We've been fishing mostly @ night latetly. The Snook fishing has been excellent. Each light has been holding different bait. All white Albie Whore's have been by far the best fly. We've had a couple of nice slot fish this past week. Today we ventured offshore in search of King's. We marked alot of fish, but could not get any to eat the fly. We then settled for the full sinking line in 120 feet & had a good # of Albie's upto 15#'s hooked a peanut Dolphin, & had alot of Blue & Rainbow Runner's.

We've had to deal w/alot of wind lately, but when we can get out the fishing has been very good. This week we had an incrediable Dolphin bite. Most fish were 12-20#'s. The Albie's this week were all big not like the past few week's when we had to weed thru the little one's to get a good one. Also there's been a good number of Rainbow & Blue Runner's showing up. Dock light's have been fishing very well. We just got off the beach & hooked our 1st Snook of the seaon from the sand.

April is usually transition monthe here in S.E. Florida. Our wintering fish move on & we wait for our summer fish to show up. Well the summer fish have arrived. This week we got into alot of Albie's small Dolphin Blue Runner's & the men in the brown suit's ( Shark's ) even made a good showing. Althou this week we had a big influx of tiny Albie's ( 1 -3 # er's ) We found using sinking line's was the ticket to getting bigger fish. Our Albie run usually start's in May. It's going to be a strong & long Albie run. Dock light Snooking has been excellent. Starting to see a bigger class of fish moving in. Can't wait for the big girl's to show on our beach's.

There here already. The Albie season has started alittle early this year. Today we had a great morning fishing for False Albacore. We boated 1/2 dozen & they were all over 10#'s. Also we've gotten into alot of small Dolphin this week. They were all small but alot of fun on the 7wt's. Beach's still have some Bluefish & Spanish Mackrel. Last week we made a trip along the beach & found a few school's of Jack's. These weren't the big one's we were hoping for, but they were the 10-15# range. We did mange to hook & have a 35 minute fight w/a huge Jack in the I.C.W. this week. We saw the wake coming & the biggest rod we had was an 8wt. We threw & on the 2nd pop w/the all white gurgler the fight was on. After a few run's into the backing & getting the leader into the rod on the 2nd try the 25# shock wore out. Was probably the biggest Jack i've seen.
